To Ms. Williams:  A cancellation is a stuttering modification tool where you get stuck or stutter on a word, and then right afterwards you say the word again easily (you cancel or erase the stuttering).

What we did today:
Today we played Connect Four and it was a tough competition against Victor and me, but luckily I won.  The reason why we played Connect Four is because we practiced doing stuttering modification tools. I worked on cancellations and first sound stretch, and Victor worked on pullouts.  It was fun, and I felt like I was good at first sound stretches but okay at cancellations.

  1. Hi boys - thanks for explaining cancellations! I love the idea of erasing something you want to take back. I love how Ms. Leggette makes your speech so fun with games like Connect Four. You guys are so lucky to have such an awesome teacher! Could you play Connect Four at home with your families and teach them about the cancellations too? That would be a great way to practice your speech lessons and have fun with your families! Great work boys.

  2. Hi Victor and Jonathan!
I has been so great to hear what you two are working on with Ms. Leggette! It sounds like you two are working hard. Have you had a chance to talk with your parents about what you are learning? Maybe they can help you at home too! I can't wait to see your presentation after we get back from winter break!
