What we did today April 26th, 2012

Today we played Kerplunk and me and Victor tied. We worked on our speech skills- cancellations and pullouts.  And then we responded to blog comments.  I feel like I'm improving with my speech.

March 8, 2012

Today we worked on letters to Famous People Who Stutter.  We are writing the famous football player Darren Sproles and the famous actor James Earl Jones (Darth Vader).  We planned for our letters last week and wrote rough drafts this week.  Our letters have four parts: 1- a little bit about ourselves, 2- why we are writing, 3- questions we have for the famous person about stuttering, 4- thanking them for their time.  We will send our letters to Mr. Sproles and Mr. Jones after we proof read and write a final copy next week.

What we did today- 3/1/2012

Today we were writing a letter to famous person who stutters.  I chose Darren Sproles because he stutters and he is a famous football player for the New Orleans Saints.  Jonathan chose James Earl Jones because he play Darth Vader in Starwars.  We planned for our letter: talking about ourselves, why we are writing, asking a question about stuttering, and thanking them.

I felt awesome and next we will write our rough draft.

What Casper did today 2-23-12

today we rated our stuttering for the week, and then we did the speech ladder, and Jonathan got mystery motivator.  And Jonathan wants to go to the swing.  For the speech ladder my easy speaking situation is phone call, and my hard speaking situation is brother/sister.  For Jonathan his easy situation was his  best friends, and his hard situation was a presentation. I wrote a disclosure line of "please do not judge me, becuase I stutter."

What we did today 2/9/12

Today we got observed by our principal and we played a slap it game to work on learning about stuttering and techniques. We did a rate your stuttering and my rating was 3. Victor's was 2. Then we got our custom Gears of War/Soccer/Football speech game homework and I'm going to work on my easy onsets.  Victor is going to work on pullouts.  I feel marvelous about the group today because it was fun.  And Casper had fun too.  Casper is a ghost that plays with our minds around the speech room.

What we did today- January 12th, 2012

Today we practiced our triads which is when you fake stutter on each word, use easy speech to say it next, and then say the word using more "normal" sounding easy speech.  We played Jenga and I won the championship. Victor got mystery motivator which is a behavior reward system.  It means that Victor gets to pick a game to play for 5 minutes without working on stuttering therapy. I felt like saying this word shabalabadingdong.

January 5th, 2012

We filled out a worksheet called "What's true for you?" and then after we played a game.  We were talking about do people laugh at you because of your stuttering?  Then we were talking about scary movies while working on a game about fake stuttering. We fake stuttered with prolongations, repetitions, and blocks. It was fun because Ms. Leggette got scared about the scary movies.

After that we were talking about a funny movie called Scary Movie 4 and this guy has been captured by Saw and cut off the wrong foot instead of the foot that was chained.  I worked on sound repetitions and had a good time.
